Participation in the Bel Air Independence Day Parade is by acceptance of application only. We hereby invite you to apply; however, not all applicants may be accepted.

We, the members of the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, have a vision of how our parade should look and feel. Participants in our parade are required to present themselves in a manner that is consistent with this vision. The complete rules describe this is some depth; if you haven't read the complete Parade Rules and Regulations, please select this link to do so.

The Parade Rules and Regulations include information on classifications of units, prizes available, conduct that is required or prohibited, and more; at the end of this form, you will be asked to indicate that you agree to abide by all Parade Rules.

After reading all the Parade Rules and Regulations, please fill out this on-line application form and send it to us by selecting the "Submit" button (below). To help us determine if we will accept you in the parade, and, if then, to help us place you in the parade properly, we need certain information, including how to get in touch with you, and what CATEGORY or KIND of parade unit you will be — marching, say, or riding a horse, or waving at the crowd from a float. Since we need this information in order to organize the parade AND send you staging instructions, we have required that various fields or answers be filled in before the form will send.

Once we receive your application form, we may very well contact you to ask further questions (parades are complicated and sometimes people make mistakes or are unclear in their applications!). Don't worry about that; however, that's why we ask you here for contact information. If we can't contact you, and if we have a question, that will probably result in you NOT being accepted into the parade.

Also, the E-MAIL ADDRESS you give us will be the e-address to which we send staging instructions, once you have been accepted into the parade. PLEASE consider this in terms of "who will receive the information on or about June 22?" You'd be surprised how many times we get calls saying, "Gee, the person who in May filled out the form goes away for the summer and we can't retrieve the paperwork!"

Please describe your unit in TWO WAYS: first tell us "what it looks like" — for instance, "a jeep pulling a trailer on which several people will be riding"; or, "a decorated antique fire engine." This information is very important to help us judge whether to accept you into the parade, and, then, to stage you properly. So — what does your unit look like?

Next, tell us about yourself or your organization: this information will be announced via loudspeaker from the Reviewing Stand. If you need more space, please e-mail us the information separately in any text format. This information is usually called a "blurb." And — by the way — if you DON'T give us any information, there will be NO description of your unit announced, except your name, from the Reviewing Stand! So — what is your blurb?

The Final Step — Agreement, Waiver & Acknowledgment

Please read the following 5 statements. If you agree with all of them, click the "I agree with these statements" button. This agreement is required for your form to be processed. Then, select the "Submit" button to submit your form, or the "Reset" button to clear your responses and allow you to start again. We thank you for your patience and diligence!

  1. I hereby state that I am authorized to execute this entry form on behalf of the entrant and that the information provided by me and/or the entrant is true and correct.

  2. Waiver of Liability: Entrant waives any and all demands, suits, actions, or claims of any kind whatsoever it has ever had in the past or will have in the future against the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, Inc., and its respective servants, agents or employees, for any and all losses, damages, claims, costs or charges of any kind suffered by entrant as a result, either direct or indirect, of anticipating and/or participating in the Bel Air 4th of July Parade held on July 4, 2017. Furthermore, entrant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, Inc., and its servants, agents or employees, against any and all claims, suits, actions, costs and demands of any kind made against the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, Inc., as a result of entrant's anticipation of and/or participation in the Bel Air 4th of July Parade on July 4, 2017.

  3. I understand that participation in the Bel Air Independence Day Committee Bel Air, Maryland, July 4, 2017 parade, is by acceptance of application only, and that not all applications received upon invitation may be accepted. I agree that my application will not be processed until the appropriate fee ($10 or $175) is received. I agree to mail the appropriate fee, via check made out to the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, Inc., to P.O. Box 724, Bel Air, MD 21014, by the dates set by the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, Inc., or to drop off said fee as directed by the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, Inc.

  4. I acknowledge and agree that my image(s) and/or the image(s) of the entrant, as well as the sound produced by the entrant, if any, may be photographed, videotaped, and/or recorded during participation in the Bel Air 4th of July Parade, and, in exchange for being permitted to participate in the parade, I further affirmatively grant permission to the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, Inc., or to its assigns, to use those images and/or sounds for purposes of publicity, solicitation of sponsorship, broadcast or cablecast on television or radio, display on the internet, or for any other purpose, now and in the future, including use in media or formats not yet in existence, forever, by the Bel Air Independence Day Committee, Inc., without any notice or further compensation to me, and I waive any rights to said image(s) or sound(s) on behalf of the entrant, now and forever.

  5. I have read and understand the 2017 Parade Rules and Regulations as published by the Bel Air Independence Day Committee as of the date of this agreement, and agree to comply with said Rules and Regulations; I have read and understand the Waiver of Liability set forth above.
