July 4th Cover Contest Winner
The cover art of this program was created by Benjamin Kraft, a recent 5th grade graduate of Homestead-Wakefield Elementary School (HWES). Ben is very creative and loves to paint and draw. He always looks forward to art class with Mrs. Glackin, and learning new art techniques. Ben would like to thank Mrs. Glackin for believing in him and encouraging his artistic growth. When he grows up he would love to show his art to the world. Ben is very grateful for this opportunity.
Submissions to the Cover Contest were handled by Mike Blum and David Williams, with the huge assistance of county art teachers, especially Melissa Poet and Melinda Glackin of Homestead-Wakefield Elementary Schools in Bel Air. We are grateful for the support we have received from so many art teachers over the years, resulting in the excellent series of cover art submissions and winning entries.
We are also pleased to include in the program the drawings that earned an Honorable Mention in the 2025 contest.
Programs are available free of charge beginning on or about June 24 at many Bel Air-area stores, restaurants, businesses and government buildings.
The programs not only include a complete schedule of events, but also maps and locations of events, road closures and traffic diversions, lists of sponsors and patrons, and more.
Thanks and we hope we see you on the 4th! You are also cordially invited to browse through our official 2025 program!
